How to update your CIPC customer code on InfoDocs

To use InfoDocs for CIPC submissions using your own customer code, you need to link your CIPC account.


Linking your CIPC customer code allows InfoDocs to connect securely to your personal CIPC account. This lets you submit transactions, make payments and request company documents directly through InfoDocs using your own account credentials.


You can add your customer code at any time from your Account or you can add it while filing a CIPC transaction.


Update your customer code in account settings


If you already have a CIPC customer code, you can add or update it directly from your account page.


Step 1: Click Account in the navigation bar.

Step 2: Select Update Customer Code.

Step 3: Complete the following fields in the pop-up form:

  • Customer Code: Your registered CIPC customer code (e.g., C123456).
  • Customer Password The password linked to your CIPC account.
  • ID Number of Account Holder The ID number of the person who owns the CIPC account.
  • Surname of Account Holder The surname of the account holder as it appears on their ID.

Step 4: Click Verify.


InfoDocs will verify your details directly with CIPC. If successful, your customer code will be securely linked to your profile.


If verification fails


If verification is unsuccessful, check that:

  • Your Customer Code and Password are valid and correct.
  • The ID number and Surname match the registered CIPC account holder.
  • The CIPC eServices website is accessible (system downtime may prevent verification).

Note on usage


When submitting to CIPC through InfoDocs for subscription users only, you can choose to:

  • File using your own CIPC customer code, or
  • File using the InfoDocs customer code (InfoDocs will handle the transaction on your behalf).


Add your customer code during a CIPC transaction


If you have not yet linked your customer code, InfoDocs will prompt you the first time you perform a CIPC-related action.


Step 1: When prompted, choose + Add CIPC Customer Code.

Step 2: Enter the following information:

  • Customer Code
  • Customer Password
  • ID Number of Account Holder
  • Surname of Account Holder

Step 4: Click Verify to confirm your details with CIPC.

Step 5: Once verified, continue with your submission.

Step 6: Alternatively, you can proceed the standard route of using InfoDocs’ registered account to complete your CIPC filing.


Once your code has been verified, InfoDocs will save it securely for future use. You can update or remove it at any time from your account settings.


Security note


Your CIPC credentials are encrypted and stored securely.

InfoDocs does not share, view, or store your login details in plain text. They are used only to authenticate directly with CIPC when required.
