How to update director contact details on CIPC (Step-by-Step Guide for Directors)

What you'll need:
- A CIPC customer code (e.g. ABC123)
- Access to the email and cellphone registered on your director profile
Not sure if you have a CIPC account?
Step 1: Go to the CIPC registration page
Step 2: Enter your ID or passport number to search for an existing customer code. If nothing appears, create a new account before continuing.
How to update director contact details on CIPC
Step 1: Log in to CIPC eServices
Go to eservices.cipc.co.za and log in with your customer code and password.
Step 2: Navigate to the New Services Portal
Click TRANSACT in the top menu, then select MORE SERVICES.


Step 3: Choose Change Director Contact Details

Step 4: Select the specific company you would like to change contact details for

Step 5: Click Edit/View next to your name
You’ll only be able to edit if your customer profile ID/passport number matches your director record. If it doesn’t, the system will block the change.

Step 6: Enter your new contact details
Scroll down to the CONTACT PERSONAL INFORMATION section, update your email and cellphone number and click SAVE, then CONTINUE, then SUBMIT.


No supporting documents required.
Please note: Directors appointed as “Alternate Director” will not be able to amend their contact details here.
What happens next?
- You’ll receive an email and SMS to both your old contact numbers for approval
- Click the approval link to confirm the change within 24 hours
- If no objections are raised, the new contact details will be active within 24 hours
If you ignore the email, the change request expires.
If you click “Reject”, the update is cancelled.
