How to transfer a name reservation to another customer code with CIPC

If you have reserved a name for a company using the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), but you now want to transfer it to another customer code, you can do this manually by following the steps below.

Step 1: Go to the CIPC website and log in to your account using your customer code and password.

Step 2: Go to Transact and click on the Name Reservation tab on the left-hand side of the screen, and then select Manual Name Transfer from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Put in the name reservation number and the code you would like to transfer the name too.

Step 4: Click on the Transfer button to confirm the transfer of the name reservation to the new customer code.
