CIPC Notice 13 of 2024: Foreigner assurance process integration with beneficial ownership

CIPC has implemented new measures to enhance the accuracy and compliance of beneficial ownership information. These updates follow amendments from the General Laws (Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting Terrorism Financing) Amendment Act, 22 of 2022.
On December 1, 2023, the CIPC launched the online Foreigner Assurance service on its eServices platform. This service allows foreign nationals to submit their information and certified passport or foreign ID copies for verification before transacting with the CIPC.
As of February 16, 2024, the Foreigner Assurance process is integrated with the Beneficial Ownership service, ensuring foreign nationals' compliance is validated. This integration is part of the CIPC's commitment to maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on its registers.
