CIPC Media Statement 1 of 2024: CIPC emphasises the need for multi factor authentication for director amendments

Effective 4 December 2023, CIPC has implemented identity verification and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for director amendments to enhance security and prevent unauthorised changes. Over 8000 applications have been processed successfully since the implementation at the time of this statement's publication.
Customers are advised to update their contact details before filing a Director Amendment to ensure a smooth process. This new measure addresses risks related to data breaches and phishing, providing higher assurance and protecting the integrity of the CIPC's regulatory environment.
