What is a Split Transfer?
A split transfer is a transfer of shares from one shareholding or share certificate to many.
Say you have a shareholder called Andrea who wants to sell their shares to Bob and Chris.
To start, Andrew holds 100 shares on Share Certificate No. 1 and wants transfers their shares so that Bob will hold 50 shares on Share Certificate No. 2 and Chris will hold 50 shares on Share Certificate No. 3.
In the Register of Share Transfers, both transactions will show as being transferred from Share Certificate No. 1 to Share Certificate No.'s 2 and 3 respectively.
This is what we would refer to as a "split transfer".
