# What is a Third Party?

Simply [invite a third party](/en/article/how-to-add-a-third-party-1oojw8b/) to provide [edit or view-only access](https://support.infodocs.co.za/en/article/what-is-a-third-party-1el0v7h/) to one or more companies.

You can also invite a director, member or shareholder to provide quick access to all related companies (based on their appointments and shareholdings).

### What's the difference between a third party and an account user?

A third party only has access to specific companies while an account user will have full access to all companies on your portfolio by default (you can change this when adding or editing account users).

### Can I edit or remove a third party?

Yes, anyone with edit access can edit or remove a third party.
