# How to transfer a name reservation to another customer code with CIPC

||| If you have reserved a name for a company using the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), but you now want to transfer it to another customer code, you can do this manually by following the steps below.

**Step 1:** Go to the CIPC website and log in to your account using your customer code and password.

**Step 2**: Go to **Transact** and click on the **Name Reservation** tab on the left-hand side of the screen, and then select **Manual Name Transfer** from the drop-down menu.

**Step 3:** Put in the name reservation number and the code you would like to transfer the name too.

**Step 4:** Click on the **Transfer** button to confirm the transfer of the name reservation to the new customer code.
