# CIPC Notice 1 of 2024: Disparity of registration numbers and incorporation dates

**Published: 5 January 2024**

Due to CIPC's automation system, applications received in 2023 will have 2023 on the registration number but will show 2024 as the incorporation date.
This notice aims to clarify the process and ensure that users understand the distinction between the year of registration and the incorporation date.
