# CIPC Media Statement 2 of 2024: Notification of security compromise as per section 22 of POPIA

CIPC has detected an attempted security breach compromising the personal information of clients and employees. 

Immediate measures were taken to mitigate potential damage, and the affected systems have been restored. Clients are advised to monitor their credit card transactions closely and approve only known and valid requests. 

The extent of the data exposure is under investigation, and further details will be communicated promptly. CIPC is committed to ensuring the security and integrity of its systems and data.
