- The new KwaZulu-Natal Traditional Leadership and Governance Bill (“the Bill”) which is intended to repeal the current KwaZulu-Natal Traditional Leadership and Governance Act 2005 faces substantial opposition to the repeal of the Codes amongst Traditional Leaders and ordinary members of Traditional communities (KwaZulu-Natal Traditional Leadership and Governance Act No 5 of 2005).
- The Bill is currently with the Portfolio Committee of the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
